Internal ERP Portal — Construction Company

A full-stack internal portal built for a construction company operating across multiple sites. Features real-time team communication via Socket.io, project & task management, document sharing, interactive dashboards with Chart.js, and role-based access control — all backed by a Python REST API and MS SQL Server.

Stack

  • Nuxt 3
  • Vue 3
  • Pinia
  • Socket.io
  • Python
  • FastAPI
  • MS SQL Server
  • Chart.js
  • PrimeVue
  • JWT Auth

The problem

A construction company managing multiple active sites had no central system for communication, task tracking, or document sharing. Project managers and field teams were coordinating via WhatsApp groups and email threads, making it impossible to track progress or access the right documents in the right context. They needed a private internal portal — fast, reliable, and accessible from any device on site.

What we built

  1. 01Full-stack internal web app built with Nuxt 3 on the frontend and a Python FastAPI backend connected to MS SQL Server
  2. 02Real-time team chat and notifications via Socket.io, scoped per project and team
  3. 03Project and task management module with assignment, status tracking, and priority levels
  4. 04Document sharing with role-based access control — field workers see only their site, managers see all
  5. 05Interactive dashboards built with Chart.js for project progress, task completion rates, and team activity
  6. 06JWT-based authentication with role separation (admin, manager, worker)

Outcome

  • A single portal replacing fragmented WhatsApp and email coordination across all construction sites
  • Real-time visibility into task status and document availability for management
  • Role-based access ensuring sensitive project data stays within the right teams
  • Deployed as a private internal tool — not publicly accessible
